“I ran in those same streets, where I had to chase dozens of fleeing individuals who had weapons, and none of them ended up dead.”

Former Chicago Police Officer Dimitri Roberts talks to @donlemon about the shooting of Adam Toledo.

@Eldragon_V @CBS But I think it’s important to not focus our conversation on weapon nomenclature and prior use cases. But more so, use our intellect towards figuring out how to deal with the issues at hand. I would personally appreciate your input on how we can come up with a solution

@Eldragon_V @CBS In one word: Access is what changed...

[Dimitri Roberts @DimitriNRoberts]

@Eldragon_V @CBS I’ve used both versions of these weapons in Combat and as a Police Officer. So, if I miss categorized the weapon nomenclature and use, that was not my intent. No matter the name and version, a long gun is not difficult to get. Do you agree with that?

We are grieving with Parkland. But we are not powerless. Caring for our kids is our first job. And until we can honestly say that we're doing enough to keep them safe from harm, including long overdue, common-sense gun safety laws that most Americans want, then we have to change.
