One of the things that was important to keep in mind was that both weren’t ready for a relationship. Mitsumi’s focus lays more with understanding the people around her and adjusting to life outside her hometown. Shima has his trauma to deal with before he could truly commit.

i just love the approach that skip and loafer had with shima and mitsumi’s relationship and their eventual breakup. how it ended on mutual terms and how they continued to stay friends… not every breakup needs to end in hatred/remorse..
