This time, the selected works are chosen from submissions received in September for the Academy Awards–qualifying categories: Live Action, Animation, and Non-Fiction.
Congratulations to all directors and production teams ✨

In the Live Action category, we saw many stories centered on family, as well as works exploring themes such as social isolation, mental health, and dementia, and films addressing environmental issues like global warming, floods, and nature. At the same time, a number of titles once again brought attention to the history of nuclear issues and the development of the atomic bomb.
From the short lists announced monthly through March 2026, finalists will be revealed on the festival’s official website by the end of April 2026 👀
