@mds Love the process man, love the format. I think you could have been bolder in your design choices tbh, we got used to it! But it's full of good tips, so that's what matters - thanks for that :)
A French startup building a UGC platform for game studios came to me with a name, a brand color and a pitch.
No product, no website
I designed the studio dashboard, the creator space and the website.
Showing the clickable prototypes was enough to sign several studios before launch
Distance stopped being a problem a long time ago.
I've worked with clients in Sacramento, Montreal, Dubai, Mauritius and Tahiti, all from my desk in France.
Welcome to 2026, baby.
(btw, that's a sneak peek of my new site)
For the past few years I told clients Designvolt was an agency with a team.
It was me, plus a few freelancers when I needed help. I thought being alone made me look too small for the bigger projects.
It caught up with me. I ended up doing everything, I was always behind, and clients could see things weren't moving.
Now I say it loud: it's just me. You get the person doing the work, and you're the only project on my desk.

@yahyavision It's not because everyone has access to it that everybody will use it. On X, it's a bubble. Not many use AI on a day-to-day basis. Also, busy entrepreneurs don't want to spend time on these subjects. So, I guess there's still room for us
Starting from zero on X is humbling.
15 years of design, 120+ projects, products used by 90M+ people, and 17 followers.
Nobody here has seen my work yet, so I'm going to show it. Starting with the about section of my new site.
A lot of people think building their own site with AI will help their business. Kind of like buying a Porsche and thinking it'll help you win a race.
Quick reminder: owning a Porsche doesn't make you a racing driver. It just makes you a guy with a Porsche.
Put a real racing driver in a regular car and they'll still beat a regular guy in a Porsche.
Now imagine a racing driver in a Porsche.
That's what AI is. A tool for people who already know what they're doing, not a shortcut to a professional result for everyone else. A good designer knows what will really help your business grow. AI just gets them there faster.
So yeah, designers are safe (for now).
