@LotteWeiss1@SynthPotato Yeah I think it depends on what you want to do.
If you’re trying to adrenalinemax with permadeath, you want clean balance. And to be fair 3Tweaks has much more interesting build crafting potential specifically because of that balance.
Loved lorerim tho.
@keepweedillegaI Bought a vintage film camera for 30% less than other listings. Arrived from Japan to the UK within 2 days, worked beautifully.
Opposite experience.
@CopiumDeficient Because everyone experiences it and we can’t explain it. You live your entire life exclusively in a world that no science can touch or map or begin to explain.
Which also means you can’t decide whether anything is conscious or not.
You experience things, like the taste of coffee or the blueness of the sky.
Your brain otherwise acts like a biological computer, everything it does is predictable and fits into materialism and physics.
Your subjective experiences, what it feels like to be in them, are as yet unexplained, and unexplainable by today’s science.
Is it still unclear?
Stubborn and frustrating to use when wrong. A real rage baiter.
Had it wiring an attack animation sequence in a pixel game, kept telling it the observed behaviour, and it would work silently for 10 minutes after only to say “No actually that’s not what you saw I fixed the real issue”. Wrong every time.
I crashed out.
If it’s today’s frontier models, open source the weights, the training code and infra, and the data.
If it’s some future AGI+ that makes manufactured viruses, social engineering at a level we’ve never imagined etc possible, nationalise and guard secrets jealously, co operate internationally and hope we don’t die anyway.
It’s good that Linux exists. Windows should be open source too. ICBM nukes should not.
Computer chips are insanely difficult to produce and that’ll never change. Controlling the supply of compute so people can’t train the actually dangerous future models isn’t by any means unfeasible.
Nearly everyone who is against open source AGI is pro open source everything else. It’s just a terrible idea.
@patrician_tv I watched those biking videos and despite being fairly handsome and reasonable politically you look quite a lot like the chud meme and I think that and the way you speak caused this.
@rura_66k But the third act is still the longest one.
That’s the problem with anything that opens many trees. It’s the reason A Song Of Ice And Fire will never be finished.
It’s much easier to keep expanding a tree out than it is to competently tie it back in.
@geogristle I don’t understand this post.
Can you give an example of what you mean by manipulating qualita, and define “single track sensory manipulation”?
There’s an enormous amount of qualitatively different qualia in chemically induced states, both natural to the brain and external.
There’s a combination of mods for Skyrim, Requirm and 3Tweaks, that take out level scaling, redesign balancing from scratch, and make build creation much more in depth and tie equipment into that new system.
Using them made me realise how good a dungeon crawler it makes the game. Their maps are elite, they just need the right gameplay to bring that out.
@VictorTaelin Between the promise to pull it, the shifting deadline, and the random resets Anthropic have done something really unique, in that they’ve distributed freebies in a way that pisses off half their userbase.
