Don't fall for this trap.

An influencer tells you that you can earn $10k on an upcoming airdrop.

You follow their guide.

You transact every day.

You're ready for your pay day.

But you make one fatal mistake.....

.

You use your main wallet for farming.

You get your airdrop, no problem.

But to your surprise....

The rest of your wallet is drained.

Unfortunately, many influencers will not tell you the dangers of airdrop farming.

Why?

It hurts engagement.

So what are the dangers?

Smart Contract Vulnerabilities

99% of airdrops are for new chains.

New chain = new and unaudited protocols.

And since airdrop farming requires users to interact with a variety of different protocols on the chain....

You are putting your wallet at risk with each interaction.

No, the protocol itself may not be a scam.

But hackers are always on the lookout for liquidity and vulnerabilities.

Unfortunately, new airdrop chains are a breeding ground for both.

Outright Scams

Some protocols are outright scams.

They launch a fake project on a new chain to prey on new and unexperienced users.

And they create back doors to steal your funds.

One way is through approval transactions.

Approval transactions are common and necessary on most platforms to allow a smart contract to move a portion of your funds.

However, some sites will try to trick you into signing a transaction that grants them unlimited ability to move your funds.

Tips to safely farm airdrops:

1) Create a new wallet on a separate browser.

Why risk your funds if you don't have to?

Also, a sub account on metamask is NOT a new wallet.

New seed phrase=new wallet.

2) Double check your links before clicking

Only click on links from official channels: twitter, discord, telegram.

Cross reference the links with another source if it looks suspicious.

3) Revoke Permissions to Smart Contracts after use.

Revoke Cash and Debank are two places you can revoke approvals to your wallet.

Even when you disconnect your wallet from a website, your approvals stay active.

4) Use a VPN.

Duh.
