Our current AQI readings as of 8:30 am EDT 7/19/26 across the state have spiked back into the unhealthy to very unhealthy range after the wind shift yesterday evening.
Hazy skies with a little bit of a smoky smell are both likely today, especially north of Traverse City where the highest concentration of smoke is occurring. The Keweenaw Peninsula is currently dealing with AQI readings that are over 250+. We will have a forecast out for AQI over the next 60 hours in a little bit, but the theme remains smoky out through Tuesday.
