@queensblade1100@CL0V3RC0D3D I want the membership fixed and I want some vet only cosmetics to come over, stuff like the max cape variant they suggested. That would be dope and give me more incentive to play Reignited with the newbies. I like the idea of a fresh wipe and hopefully reviving the community
@ohsnapitysnapz Good god what changed? They didn't propose any drastic change. You still have the separate economy and progression. If that's all it took y'all were never serious about playing anyway. Bunch of tire kickers and good riddance
@CrossFireXTV What changed from yesterday that suddenly made the newbies (who almost surely won't stick around) say it's fucked now? You still have your separate economy and progression? They didn't change any of that. Sounds like a bunch of tire kickers then. Good riddance
Here are some facts about RuneScape Reignited. It's a new game mode that is just another exact copy of RS3 with its own, separate progression and economy from the main game. It's meant to attract new and returning players and hopefully revive a community on life support.
As much as I feel like a crybaby saying this, at that point, why would I want to play at all now if that seems to be the two possible endings? I guess it's better to just quit and be happy for Reignited's possible successfulness and just permanently switch to OSRS?
At this point, either my game dies and my account is meaningless, or Reignited is a massive success and my account is meaningless. And honestly the latter hurts a little more. You'd have this new, bustling, large community now and you have nothing to show for all that wasted time
How is it right to essentially say, "Hey, those 5K hours you've put into that character... yeah you gotta do that all again on a fresh server for those achievements to be meaningful." Why? How is that fair to me? How can I be expected to dump another maybe 2K hour to do it again?
I'm a maxed, close to comping, account that has played well over 5K hours on that character alone. RuneScape is more of time sink than ANY game I've ever played EVER. I'm an endgame Destiny player that has collected every exotic ever in the game (except for Vex Mytho...)
The only way I would accept the terms as they were originally presented is if Jagex actually said, "This has to happen, and soon, or the game will be permanently taken offline." Even then, I'm going to be angry. Any time period or version of RS is a huge time sink, some moreso.
I also don't think it's fair that I'm essentially being asked to restart my progress for this to happen. I understand MTX had the game by chokehold for years. I know there were tons of people who bought their money/xp and that has lessened the value of my achievements.
I want what the OSRS community has. I've played a lot of OSRS and I've accomplished quite a bit on there. Some 99s, quest cape, all easy, medium, and hard achievement diaries. That game is thriving and it's so fun. I want that for RS3 if its possible, too.
I very much like the intent behind this. I don't HATE the idea of fresh economy and progression. I'm not COMPLETELY opposed to restarting... even if I feel like I shouldn't be the one forced to make tough decisions in this game when the reason it's struggling isn't my fault.
@YourMuthr It's definitely more attractive to OSRS players. Honestly, what difference will it make to an actual new player who knows nothing about RS3 coming and playing on the vet worlds? None. This is more for OSRS players than anything.
@TheoryWiseOS Also just to be clear, I'm not trying to seem like I'm coming at you. I'm an angry, long-time RS3 vet that was kind of shocked when I saw them announce Reignited. I just don't think it's fair I should restart everything because old Jagex screwed it up
@coreydoolan@TheoryWiseOS How am I being negative? He has every right to share his opinion and I have every right to reply to him. It's easy to say you'd sacrifice it all until you're actually being told to sacrifice it all. And let's not pretend Reignited is a guaranteed fix anyway, this isn't OSRS
@TheoryWiseOS I think its pretty easy and convenient to say you'd sacrifice it all in a heartbeat knowing that isn't and would never be asked of you as an OSRS player (I'm happy for you). I guess you made the right choice in OSRS and I made the wrong choice sticking it out.
