@ettingermentum Genuine question: why did Grand Rapids go so hard for AES? I get why he did well in Ann Arbor, but Grand Rapids seems like a very normy town from the outside.
@_richiegeorge Kyrsten Sinema’s dissertation is pure Agamben slop titled “Who Must Die:
The State of Exception in Rwanda’s Genocide”

@NateSilver538 19th-century socialists were largely tradespeople with ok incomes and enough education to engage with new ideas, not destitute factory workers. They were skilled workers whose position in society was increasingly precarious - not unlike the DSA base of teachers/nurses today.
Hermano,
Has ganado el mundial. Has hecho historia. 🥹❤️
@I_Go_Rogue@mattvanswol@grok The 14th amendment was intended to cover children of freed slaves illegally brought to the US after the international slave trade was banned. Congress openly discussed this. They didn’t want to how someone’s parents got here to matter.
@catshaihks5@Etanetan23 That’s the same argument against democracy that self-described white supremacists made in black-majority states like South Carolina and Mississippi after the Civil War.
@blueyank4life@TaylorTwellman Cape Verde won their CAF qualification group over Cameroon, who have been to 8 World Cups. The format of CAF qualification would have been different with 32 teams, but there’s a good chance CV still qualify. Brazil would have had to win an inter-continental playoff with 32.
@n0shakzon@_ericblanc They probably will though. Unions have tended to endorse establishment Dems because they are risk adverse and want a seat at the table when the incumbent/establishment pick inevitably wins. It’s not ideological. After Lefties win, unions will try to cozy up for the same reasons.
