EXCLUSIVE: an insider at Charles Schwab discusses the incompetence of its Indian contractors and how white employees frequently have to clean up their mistakes, as well as their plans to offshore work to India in the coming months.

According to him, the entire tech team at Charles Schwab, "which is probably over half of the 30,000 or so employees," is overwhelmingly Indian, and Charles Schwab also contracts out through major bodyshops such as Infosys, Wipro, and TCS, bringing in more Indians. He states that the Indians at Charles Schwab are extraordinarily incompetent, often "[a]sking questions about basic concepts or things that any software engineer with prior experience should know or know how to figure out." Indians at Charles Schwab will typically "bug the more experienced (often white) employees to 'help them out' (aka do the work for them)."

Additionally, Charles Schwab is opening a center in India next year, and Americans are being sent there to train the new employees. Charles Schwab claims this is a way of "get[ting] around dealing with the contractors and such, but this obviously makes L-1 and L-2 transfers easier as these employees will be Schwab employees." He adds that this change came after Charles Schwab "hir[ed] a consulting firm (McKinsey or Bain I believe) under direction of a new CEO to find cost cutting opportunities...so signs seem to point to replacing American employees with Indian employees via offshoring."

NEW: a whistleblower provides evidence that the WITCH companies (Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, HCL) are in the business of immigration fraud, not providing services to their clients. They are also illegally withholding employment opportunities for Americans.

According to the whistleblower, the WITCH firms traditionally specialized in deliverable-based work. This means that they are responsible for the outcomes, own the project, and are paid on deliverables. However, because these companies feel like they are losing control of applications, they are moving towards staffing exclusively, meaning they only provide contractors and don't own outcomes.

The Indian firms doing this are undercutting American contractors at huge margins because the latter cannot work for such low rates and turn a project. WITCH firm clients also know American contractors can't fulfill contracts at these low rates, but they're getting a lower cost which is all they care about.

What happens when Cognizant or another body shop gets a role at these low rates? They don't have bench staff for these roles, so they farm it out to an army of subcontractors: smaller body shops employing 10-30 H-1Bs. In other words, these open positions never get published anywhere, Americans cannot apply for them, and every job that goes through the WITCH firms is one less job an American can take. It's a gigantic, Byzantine mess of subcontractors working through other firms, all designed to keep jobs in the hands of Indian H-1Bs.

Have you ever seen a LinkedIn job posting that is only open to H-1Bs? They are not intended for Americans; these positions are Indian subcontractors working with each other to fill roles for Cognizant, Infosys, TCS and the like. By the time an actual worker is on site at the end client, they could be working through three or more layers of subcontracting firms, which means the end client has no visibility into the legal status of whoever ends up actually doing the job. Both the WITCH companies and these subcontractors will fill some roles at a loss because they want to get inside info on what's happening with the team and then use it to ship jobs overseas to India.

The whistleblower also suggested looking into how these companies and other Indians influence VPs and other corporate leaders. The whistleblower is aware of kickbacks being common in the industry, though they are hard to track, e.g. an Indian vice president will pay their family overseas which makes following the trail of money difficult. They will also hire family members like their wives and friends' wives in crony positions at any company they manage, often creating new positions with no responsibilities just to employ family members and cronies.

Since the WITCH companies have no bench staff to support roles at such low rates, they will work with the Indian management of their clients to displace American staffing companies and then illegally rehire people hired through those companies, violating their existing employment agreements. They get away with this in part because these American firms are smaller and cannot fight multi-billion dollar firms like Cognizant.

Indians are rotting the American job market. Shut them down.

Cognizant is a fake consultancy group based in Chennai, India that shares its name with a New Jersey-based company, perhaps by design. They are a notorious mill for H-1B and general visa abuse, having been fined for discrimination against Americans. Shut them down! @USDOL
