There are things that happen in this country your mind can’t even proces, if you sit with them too long, your head just starts to hurt.
It feels like we keep discovering new lows. Just when you think we’ve hit rock bottom, somehow it goes even deeper.
One thing l've learnt in my small years of living is that people know what they are doing. They know how it affects you, they know how it would feel if it's done to them, they know.
Could you do me a favour and retweet this once you see it?

I’m unashamedly a believer in the finished works of Christ. It’s always going to be Jesus, from now till my dying breath. I live to see him revealed and glorified. My life is no longer my own but Christ’s.
Before you enter my Dm, Please know this.
To Alexes, my twin, my best friend:
A year ago today, death stole you from us. Literally a day to our birthday. I’m still in disbelief. You weren’t just my sister. You were my other half, my closest friend, my safe place. You were the picture of elegance: gentle, graceful, brilliant. You had a kindness that touched everyone around you.
My doctor, my Unu… I miss you every single day. Many things I want to tell you, stories I want to share, moments I wish we could laugh about together. I can’t wait for the day I see you again in heaven. I’ll hug you so tight and never let go.
Mummy misses you. Alice misses you. Daddy misses you. Your friends do too. We’re all so proud of everything you achieved in your short time here. You were only just beginning your career in medicine, but even then, your colleagues had nothing but glowing words for you. I know you would have been extraordinary.
I’m grateful that the last thing I said to you was “I love you” and even though you couldn’t speak at the time, you gestured it back. That moment will stay with me forever.
Save a seat for me up there, Unu. I promise you I will see you again. Until then, I’m making it my life’s mission to build a legacy in your name. As long as I live, I’ll make sure your light never fades.
Love always,
Your brother ❤️🕊️
And to the thing called death - FUCK YOU

It’s something I’ve unlearnt. For the longest time, our gifts to my mum were things that helped her serve us blenders, cute dishes. Things framed as love, but rooted in labour. I’ve grown to realise that loving her properly means seeing her outside of motherhood and as a woman
