In Fourways, Johannesburg, a man named Ryan Jacobs walked out of a police station late one evening after reporting his car stolen. According to his statement, two armed men had hijacked him at a traffic light and driven away with his BMW X5. Within days the insurance claim process began, and a few weeks later the payout was approved.
