@Plinz @broudsov You can reject physicalism as a fundamental ontology and still use science and engineering as an instrument to predict. Physicalism isn’t just prediction, it makes a further metaphysical claim which is entrenched in our collective culture but is not the simplest explanation.

@Plinz @scottastevenson Knowledge is conjecture that survives criticism. For all its merits, physicalism is not surviving criticism that well. It fails to account for qualia and non-locality without making metaphysical contorsions. The alternative, while less developed, is a simpler explanation.
