@RelatablewABS@FemsRad How cruel. I donated eggs (unpaid) years ago, naively wanting to do something kind. I view things differently now but what’s done is done. If the children contact me one day I feel I’d owe them the chance to meet as a minimum.
@KingotWorldIII@jk_rowling 1. Point stands.
2. Women ARE safer with women than men, evidence is clear.
3&4. What are your hypotheses based on? What observations/literature suggest it would be beneficial?
5. How would you conduct ethical research on traumatised women who don’t want male care?
@KingotWorldIII@jk_rowling Well no. If a woman finds it traumatic to be in a vulnerable client/counsellor situation with a man, that will clearly be both ineffective and detrimental to her wellbeing.
What ‘greater good’ are you seeing here?
@KingotWorldIII@jk_rowling That’s a ludicrous argument. A male officer stopping a rape is clearly acting for the greater good. Insisting on interviewing the victim afterwards if she wants a female officer wouldn’t be.
What services could men competently provide in rape centres to women who don’t want men?
@KingotWorldIII@jk_rowling It’s nothing alike.
You can be a competent doctor/therapist, but you can’t support a rape victim if you are actively traumatising them.
What support do you think men could competently provide to women who don’t want men involved?
@KingotWorldIII@jk_rowling If women don’t want men to support them, men can’t be competent support.
If men don’t accept that some women don’t want support from them, then they can’t be competent support.
Exposing someone to further trauma because you think it will toughen them up isn’t competent support.
@A_M_Seed@luckymoondog@irenebritusa Let me explain the ‘intersex’ condition.
It’s a tiny penis (grows at puberty) and undescended testicles
That’s it.
The F on the birth cert is an observational error and a gift to sports scouts who know they can use it to game the system.
Everyone’s known he’s male for years.
@ZUCKERKJ HATE shared toilets. Hate not knowing who is outside the cubicle door. At best embarrassing, at worst intimidating/dangerous. Couldn’t send my daughters in alone.
You may be cool sharing an intimate space with women. I’m not cool sharing it with you.
@WeepyLuna@nienna121 Perhaps! Happy to be redirected if I missed the point.
It was just an illustration that I think my daughter’s brown eyes are beautiful, as are her sisters’ blue ones, I can’t imagine having a preference or criticising them.
@BertDalziel Worst thing: I was a newly qualified midwife. After mat leave I got sent back to rotation on postnatal ward and honestly it was a huge factor in leaving the profession shortly after, the whole BF thing was too triggering at the time.
My 4 bottle fed kids thrived btw!
@knafaesque Fear of intervention cascades/loss of control. Also indoctrination.
I had a cs and 2 births with no pain relief. Natural was better but I labour FAST, couldn’t have done it for hours. But I’d choose pain/control over being touched/monitored/dependent on others when vulnerable.
@Bonniepurple@ajjolley We shouldn’t reward talent? So down with the Olympics, scrap the World Cup, no more Bookers Prize?
Some kids may be more academic than others but you don’t get to be in the top few students without hard work, natural capacity or not.
@SVPhillimore@bojackmordecai Between young tipsy women in the kind of nightclub toilets that have long mirrors and sofas, perhaps this sort of interaction might happen.
In a normal public toilet? Never needed or been asked for bra help, makeup, tampons etc by a stranger, nor given/received compliments.
@frannyannyo@Annie_Wu_22 I have 4 kids, I’m triggered/exhausted by endless handprints, laundry, crumbs, stains, MESS. I don’t even invite people over bc I can’t keep on top of it & I’m embarrassed. Romanticising the mess that contributes to mums struggling with mental health is such a crap take.
