This New Settlement in Laprak (ca. 2800m) Gorkha, Nepal, built after the 2015 earthquake, has turned into a ghost settlement. Almost all the houses were not in use. Anecdotal information suggests the construction was not linked to locals' livelihood and sociocultural practices.
Pleased to share the findings of a five-year multinational and multidisciplinary "Tomorrow's Cities" project, funded by the UKRI GCRF, focusing on fostering equitable and resilient urban planning. Thanks to Martin Chautary for organizing the seminar.

Research on Tomorrow's Cities never ends. Listen the tomorrow's predictions that were given in the 60s, which turned true now. If the present risks are undermined, we foresee disasters in the future.
A multi-disciplinary and multi-institution "Dialogue on Urbanization, Urban Disasters and Future Cities" was completed successfully in Lalitpur today. It concluded an urgent need for reimagining local geography-sensitive and local culture-sensitive future city planning.
