I also met @abaarsonetwork alumni Abdisalan who is heading to @StirUni later this year. We spoke about family, politics, life in the UK, his passion for education, climate concerns, and Scottish idioms! From Somaliland to Scotland - canโt wait to follow his journey. Good luck!
Tea with Fadumo tonight - one of Somalilandโs pioneering nurses and midwives. Women like her are at the heart of development: saving lives, bringing new ones safely into the world, and educating the next generation with a truly transformative impact. Feeling inspired ๐ซถ

British Office Hargeisa welcomed UK colleagues and #Somaliland ministers/officials for discussions on trade and the strategic use of the #BerberaCorridor and Port. It was an opportunity to explore how ๐ฌ๐ง & international partners can support inclusive and sustainable growth in SL.
Devastated to hear reports of a collapsed bridge between Hargeisa and Berbera - a critical route for trade and livelihoods. The communities affected are held deeply in my thoughts, and I hope for safety to those dealing with the heavy rains.
British Office Hargeisa proudly bade farewell to this year's #Chevening cohort from #Somaliland. Seven scholars are heading to UK universities to pursue diverse fields of study. Special thanks to @Dahabshil for partially sponsoring two of them. Wishing them all the best!
Congratulations @WFP and @EKDaloum on opening the #Berbera Logistics Hub, further boosting regional economic integration. The #UK is proud to have invested in Berbera - an important, strategic corridor to eastern #Africa.
A proud day for @WFP as we open the Berbera Logistics Hub, a crucial and strategic point for operations in Eastern Africa. Honored to do this jointly with my brother and counterpart from @WFP_Ethiopia, @ZMilisic.
From trade corridors to cultural exchanges - so much partnership and potential during my visit to Hargeisa and Berbera. Watch to find out more about my first trip to #Somaliland ๐
