#BREAKING: The Indian Navy has confirmed the crash of a Drishti-10 Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle (UAV) during a training sortie this afternoon near Porbandar airfield, Gujarat.

Thankfully, no injuries or loss of life reported on ground. The cause of the incident is under investigation.

JS Takanami (Takanami-class destroyer) made an operational turnaround at Mumbai and successfully conducted a Passing Exercise (PASSEX) with INS Surat (Visakhapatnam-class stealth guided-missile destroyer).

This engagement highlights the growing interoperability and strategic trust between the Indian Navy and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) in the Indo-Pacific.

- JS Takanami (DD-110): Lead ship of the Takanami-class, equipped with advanced sensors, Harpoon missiles, torpedoes, and a 127mm gun. A versatile multi-role destroyer.

🇮🇳 GE Delivers 7th F404 Engine to HAL: Tejas Mk1A Progress Update

Seven F404-IN20 engines delivered so far. Each produces ~84 kN thrust. But HAL has 30 fully built Tejas Mk1A airframes sitting ready on the assembly lines — complete with airframe, avionics, radar, and weapons integration — waiting only for engines.

Here’s the current status of the programme:

• Total order: 212 engines (for 180+ Mk1A jets across two contracts)
• Annual supply commitment: GE to deliver 24–26 engines per year starting 2025–26
• Production ramp-up: HAL has expanded lines in Bengaluru & Nashik to handle higher delivery rates
• First squadron deliveries: Now targeted for late 2026, subject to steady engine supply

This is real progress after years of delay, but the gap remains significant. Closing the IAF’s squadron shortfall depends heavily on timely engine deliveries and faster indigenisation (Ghatak, Uttam AESA, etc.).

Every engine that lands in India strengthens self-reliance and operational readiness.
