Without sharing your story, your chances of impacting people are slim.
We as humans don't trust people we know nothing about.
Stories help us to make sense of the world we live in and learn new things.
What story made the most impact on you? π₯
"There are always three speeches, for every one you actually gave.
The one you practiced, the one you gave, and the one you wish you gave."
-Dale Carnegie
This is by far the biggest mistake I see beginner speakers make.
Writing the whole speech down and then trying to memorize it word for word.
DON'T. β

3 pillars of a great speech:
1οΈβ£ The content - does your audience care about it?
2οΈβ£ The connection - share something personal.
3οΈβ£ The speaker. Don't shy away from your personality & character here. Express who you are & share bits of your life story

Yes, we all talk to ourselves in our heads. All day long.
Words create feelings.
And feelings affect behavior (think habits).
So choose carefully.
Negative self-talk is the nastiest habit.
Over the years, I've seen it prevent so many people from improving their lives.

Most of our actions & decisions are influenced by somebody or something.
Educational system, the government, society, friends, family, etc.
We influence each other every day.
Only most people have little confidence in their ability to influence others outside of their circle.
There are 3 types of people:
1. People who are born influential
2. People who BECOME influential
3. And those who are influenced by others
The only real difference between them is the level of mastery of 1 skill - communication.
A learnable skill.

We don't always consider our knowledge, background & experience as assets that are valuable to others.
You have the power to inspire others.
And you may not even know it until you start sharing your story.

The best speakers such as @thelesbrown are not only great on stage.
But also at paying attention to others.
This was the most revelational encounters in my life!
How good are you at retaining focus on others? π―

Learning how to think is a skill.
How to communicate & solve problems creatively are skills too.
These skills help you to adapt to changes in this uncertain world.
Is change a bad thing? Then why do we resist it so much? π€·πΎββοΈ

Sustainable education adapts to each student's unique learning style.
It supports interaction, collaboration, social competence & uses feedback instead of grades.
Where you learn by doing & don't get penalties for failure.
Sounds awesome, doesn't? ππΎ
