always remember when you see this shit that farmers are more likely than not to be wealthy and are one of the most heavily subsidized groups in the country.
Would the Supreme Court permit somebody whose student loan balance jumped ten thousand dollars today to cite their sincere religious belief in the sin of usery (Exodus 22:25–27) in refusing to make interest payments or does this exemption only apply to hating gay people?
So we’re clear:
The Supreme Court ended affirmative action yesterday by saying you CAN’T discriminate by helping a minority group, then turned around today and said you CAN discriminate by hurting them.
if 6 people, who were not elected into their position, have the ability to strip an entire country of their rights maybe that country does not actually have the right to call itself a democracy
Supreme Court ruling against the Navajo Nation, student loan forgiveness, LGBT protections, and affirmative action…
It’s almost as if the state resorts to fascism when capitalism is in decay. Who on earth could’ve predicted that?
It is very funny that everyone understands housing supply affects prices when talking about AirBnB ("they converted these apartments and took them off the market!") but doesn't extrapolate that forward to construction ("how are these new apartments supposed to lower rents?")
People are seriously like "Yeah we may be heating parts of planet beyond limits of human habitability, but someone might invent an amazing technology in ~ 20 years that fixes it"
and I'm like "have you considered legalizing more homes in walking distance to the grocery store"
@POCGamer Feel like people are talking past each other on this.
The rules aren't the game.
5e rules are terrible to learn, but it's pretty easy to play without knowing much, (as long as the DM kinda does) partly because of the copious examples of play, and the cultural gravity it has.
Look you can yell at me all day that it’s not Biden’s fault, but he promised these things and failed to deliver. Unless he has a walloping plan to get around that, it suggests he didn’t have the foresight to know the court was going to do this shit, and that IS his fault.
@wolfie60606 @ARBookworm@TheOtherRBG@dvdpeters And those awards are also geographically distributed, to ensure each state has a proportional number of recipients.
@wolfie60606 @ARBookworm@TheOtherRBG@dvdpeters PSAT doesn't give full assistance to anyone. There's a number of different award levels, from a one-time $2.5k check to a recurring payment for 4 years. When I got it, I got $1k per semester. It's much more about getting accepted.
@samswey They're taking over both Executive and the Legislative duties as unelected theocrats with lifetime appointments.
I don't know what they expect to happen.
