Mamata Banerjee started her career inside Congress. Congress gave her the platform, the credibility, and the launchpad.

She left. Founded TMC in 1998. Fine.

Then came the real betrayal.

Congress allied with her AGAIN in 2009 Lok Sabha. won 26 seats together. Made her Railway Minister. Supported her in 2011 Bengal polls; won 228 seats, ended 34 years of Left rule. Congress even joined her coalition government.

And what did Mamata do next?

- September 2012: Pulled TMC out of UPA mid-term. Collapsed the coalition. No warning, no negotiation

- Spent the next decade systematically wiping out Bengal Congress; poaching workers, capturing booths, shrinking them to irrelevance

- 2023: Called voting for Congress = voting for BJP, while sitting INSIDE the INDIA bloc

- 2024: Refused seat-sharing with Congress in Bengal. Went completely solo

- Skipped INDIA bloc coordination. Undermined joint opposition strategy at every step

- Stayed silent when Bengal erupted over RG Kar. Attacked leaders who raised their voice

Congress STILL called her a pillar of the alliance.

That’s not politics. That’s 15 years of being used, humiliated, and discarded.

Bengal 2026 didn’t just defeat Mamata.

It delivered the bill; itemised, with interest.

Politics has a long memory, Didi. Even when you don’t.

किताब एम ओ मथाई ने लिखी है। विवादास्पद अंशों की वजह से खास समाज में बड़ी मशहूर है। इन हिस्सों पर बात करने के लिए यह पोस्ट है। लेकिन पहले..

हू वाज मथाई??

त्रावणकोर (केरल) में जन्मे मथाई ने मद्रास यूनिवर्सिटी से BA किया। कुछ समय चर्च के लिए काम करने के बाद अमेरिकन कॉन्सुलेट में नौकरी की।

1942 में ब्रिटिश सरकार की फॉरेन सर्विस में आ गए। 1946 में ट्रांजिशनल गवर्नमेंट बनी तो नेहरू के स्टाफ में शामिल हुए। अपनी समझ, कौशल और ईमानदारी से वे नेहरू के सबसे महत्वपूर्ण निज सचिव बन गए।

अचानक 1959 में विपक्ष ने उन पर जासूसी और करप्शन के आरोप लगाए। नेहरू ने उन्हें सेवामुक्त कर दिया। वे इतिहास में गुम हो गए।

20 साल बाद, 1977-78 में जनता सरकार के दौर में मथाई ने यह किताब लिखी। रुचिकर किताब थी—अपने दौर के घटनाक्रमों की पीछे की कहानियां, पॉलिटिकल किस्से।

नेहरू कैबिनेट के तमाम लोगों पर चैप्टर थे। किताब के 90% हिस्सों से लगता है कि मथाई, नेहरू को लगभग पूजते थे।

लेकिन कुछ हिस्से बेहद विवादास्पद थे।

नेहरू पर वह चारित्रिक छींटाकशी थी—जो आज व्हाट्सप यूनिवर्सिटी में घूमती है। लेकिन किताब के दूसरे संस्करण में एक नया चैप्टर जुड़ा।

यह "she" के बारे में लिखे किस्से थे। मथाई ने She के साथ प्रेम प्रसंग का दावा किया। साथ ही दूसरे मर्दों के साथ सम्बन्ध की बाते लिखी। यह she, इंदिरा गांधी से मिलती जुलती थी।

याद रहे, इस वक्त इंदिरा अपने जीवन के सर्वाधिक अशक्त दौर में थी। सत्ता से बाहर थीं, जेल जा चुकी थी। जांच कमीशन, और तमाम जांचों का तांडव झेल रही थीं।

यही समय समय मथाई ने अपने बरसों पुराने हिसाब को चुकाने उपयुक्त समय पाया। सेमी-पोर्न किस्सेबाजी,इंदिरा के बचे-खुचे राजनीतिक वजूद को खत्म करने का प्रयास माना जा सकता है।

मगर पब्लिशर ने दानिशमंदी दिखाई और मना कर दिया। किताब में वह चैप्टर का पेज ब्लैंक छोड़ा गया। 2014 के बाद वाले दौर वह हिस्सा, इंटरनेट और व्हाट्सप की अंधी गलियों में चमकने लगे।

1959 में मथाई पर बैठाई गई जांच, कैबिनेट सेक्रेटरी विष्णु सहाय ने की। उन्होंने पाया कि मथाई 1946 से ही सरकारी दस्तावेज कम्प्रोमाइज और लीक करते रहे थे।

उनके पुरानी नौकरी के अमेरिकन-ब्रिटिश संपर्क OSS ( जो आगे चलकर CiA बना) और MI6 (ब्रिटिश सीक्रेट सर्विस) से जुड़े बड़े अफसर हो चुके थे।

मां के नाम पर बनाये ट्रस्ट में 20 लाख इकट्ठा करना भी बड़ा आरोप था। लेकिन आश्चर्य, कि नेहरू ने उनपर कोई आधिकारिक अभियोग नहीं चलाया।

सिर्फ पदमुक्त किया।

किताब में नेहरू पर भी चारित्रिक आरोप हैं। लेकिन नेहरू पर नरम होते हुए भी कड़वाहट झलकती है। तो सत्ता के कॉरिडोर से फेंके गए मथाई ने 20 साल यह घाव पाला।

और वार तब किया, जब नेहरू को मरे 12 साल हो चुके थे और उनकी बेटी सत्ता से बाहर जूझ रही थी।

बाद में दूसरे पब्लिशर ने इस चेप्टर के साथ किताब छापी। तब तक इंदिरा सत्ता में लौट चुकी थीं। वो किताब बैन हुई। जो ठीक था। आज कोई अटल है मोदी जी पर पोर्न भाषा मे किस्से रचे, तो ऐसी किताब बैन होनी ही चाहिए।

लेकिन बैन प्रसिद्धि बढ़ाता है।

और संदेहास्पद कथनों को एक तरह की वैलिडिटी भी दे देता है। मथाई को इसका लाभ मिला।

उनकी कहानी ये भी बताती है कि सत्ता के करीब होना कितना जोखिम भरा हो सकता है। उनकी किताबें इतिहास का हिस्सा हैं, लेकिन सावधानी से पढ़नी चाहिए।

क्योकि नेहरू युग की सच्चाई और अफवाहों के बीच की पतली रेखा को पर, बेनाम फुसफुसाहट का खेल खेलती है।

किताबें, खासकर आत्मकथाएं, एब्सोल्यूट फैक्ट हो, जरूरी नहीं होतीं। वह लेखक का नजरिया, या सेल्फ ग्लोरिफिकेशन का हिस्सा होता है।

किताब, एक प्रोडक्ट भी हैं। विवादित अंश, मड स्लेजिंग और बदला चुकाने की नीयत के अलावे, पब्लिसिटी पाने और बिक्री बढ़ाने का जरिया हो सकता है।यह इसलिये बताना जरूरी है कि मथाई की एक और किताब है-

"माई डेज विद नेहरू"।

इस किताब के बारे में आप कुछ नही जानते। क्योकि इस किताब में नेहरू की प्रशंसा के अलावे कुछ नही। तो इस दूसरी किताब को न कोई पब्लिसिटी मिली।

और न ग्राहक।
और व्हाट्सप वालो ने भी दरकिनार कर दिया।

The Pioneer photojournalist, Praveen Jain captured this iconic photograph on 5 December 1996, a day before the Babri demolition.

In those days, Praveen Jain was covering the Ram Janmbhoomi Andolan. He recalled this Ayodhya moment in an interview later that how he approached his old-time friend, a VHP leader, to get the exclusive content. The VHP leader asked him to visit a particular place next morning which is 5th December. He got the exclusive access to this site by means of a VHP-member visiting card arranged by his friend.

He was stunned by what he witnessed. He knew he was going to capture the historic moment. Here, the Hindu organisation's workers and karsevaks were rehearsing the demolition.

By this time he knew what was going to happen on 6th December. He shared this exclusive moment with other photojournalists, who didn't believe him.

In the next 24 hours, on 6th December, the disputed structure was demolished. There is hardly any photo evidence of the main structure being pulled down. It is only captured in the memories of a few karsevaks. The rest is history.
