@learning_to_die@CriticalAerosol Have you tried the XL Tridents? I have a large “Roman” nose and they’re by far my favorite. 3M V-Flex duckbills also fit, but without the nose foam and with the straps connecting at a single point on each side rather than two they’re much less comfortable than the Trident.
@rcstewart1843@munson_bella@WaywardScutrGrl You can argue that Reign should have traded for draft protection, but some of the deals teams made at the last minute were pretty steep. W/o that, matching Orlando means protecting Angelina and pushing someone off. As much as I like her, I wouldn’t give up any of the 9 for her.
@MiamiDadeMso @safe_breathe@TRyanGregory The QP mentioned here is only a little larger than the Aranet; I’m not aware of anything smaller. For measuring CO2, inside a backpack pocket is fine, you don’t have to hang it outside — I do this all the time. For a particulate monitor, yes, must be in free air to be accurate.
@itssuzann@TRyanGregory The 2023-2024 boosters (monovalent XBB.1.5), improve your odds vs current variants, including Eris and Pirola, but are not foolproof protection. I’m not aware of papers on clinical outcomes yet; we have antibody measurements e.g. https://t.co/z0fyh1yx6o
@NBoydGibbins Who owns the technology? The usual is pharma funds research in hopes of a patent and making money off it later. If in exchange for self-pay you release the tech to the world, that might be worth it. But asking people to pay for development of your patent would be a bit much.
@AltenbergLee@LongDesertTrain Right, and there was no Delta wave in the US in May, either. Inflection point on the log chart is at the beginning of July, doing my best to read around whatever that artifact in the case counts is. https://t.co/WsSi3p8Kv9
@LongDesertTrain@AltenbergLee So what did allow it to explode later? Antibody waning seems like a reasonable hypothesis, April/May 2021 has to be a peak in US average antibody levels between the vaccination campaign and the winter wave.
@joeyfox85 Alternatively this cable *might* work with any 5 V battery pack, but I have not tested that. Might be slightly too much current draw for continuous use. https://t.co/OAxh7Awj53
@joeyfox85 A setup like this will draw ~500mA at 12 V, which a portable battery pack labeled for “USB-C PD” (power delivery) 12 V output can do with something like this cable https://t.co/43LzbXFs2q. I have tested that cable with this Belkin battery: https://t.co/LCCT6ODDUQ
I'm back writing for @ForeignPolicy on why ancient Sparta is unworthy of modern emulation and in particular the US military's love affair with all things Spartan is both inappropriate and hazardous: https://t.co/OPFQJdmYaK
@florian_krammer Come to Seattle, see as many “Eastern” Cottontails as you like. A dozen or more per acre in every single-family neighborhood, never mind the parks.
@gardengirl778 They didn’t, though. Yes, the discussion of how they calculate “expected” deaths is overly confusing, but just look at the expected deaths — the red/orange curves on the graph — they’re essentially the same for each year.
