Tennynson, Ulises.
The Great Escape was inspired by the 1944 mass escape from Stalag Luft III, one of the most famous escapes of World War II.
Although Steve McQueen's character is fictional, he became the iconic face of the film thanks to his daring motorcycle stunts.
McQueen was a real-life motorcycle racer and performed most of the dangerous stunts himself.
The famous motorcycle jump at the end of the film is considered one of the most iconic action sequences in film history. However, the final jump was performed by stuntman Bud Ekins, who closely resembled McQueen.
McQueen served in the United States Marine Corps before becoming a Hollywood star, contributing to his tough and authentic on-screen persona.
The film boasts a strong international cast, including James Garner, Richard Attenborough, Charles Bronson, and many other notable names.

There may actually be people out there who don't love The Great Escape, but I haven't met any. The fictionalized account of the real-life Allied POW breakout from Stalag Luft III premiered in London on this day in 1963. Featuring Steve McQueen, James Garner, Richard Attenborough, Charles Bronson, James Coburn and Donald Pleasence, and propelled by Elmer Bernstein's iconic score, it remains one of the most beloved war films ever made.
Does anybody have this? It's essentially a Rubix Cube that lets you generate millions of random dungeons. A buddy just gave it to me because he thought I'd get a kick out of it.
Pretty cool!
