@MattWeaverRA Their dogged attempt to get a green finish paid off spectacularly today. That said, why is it so hard to write rules for >10 to to go that can be followed consistently? The winging it always leaves a lot of confusion. It’s the same approach they used with holding yellows.
@DrewNederpelt@Super70sSports You’re right, the sheer power and precision of the modern game make points like this impossible. This was probably a more pleasing version of the game to watch for a casual audience though.
@TrintonGL@jeff_gluck It also captures “out of home” viewership: sports bars, restaurants, gyms, etc. It’s easy to see how this benefits sports like football and baseball. Now think about how easy it is to find TVs tuned to NASCAR in such places, and you’ll see why it’s not boosting their numbers.
@lucasdirt@EagleRaceway No attempt at rescheduling? Really feels like this is one of those times that the program could have been moved up 3 hours and they’d get it in before the rain chances hit.
@The_Work_Area Serious question, is there any good way to de-incentivize it for points racers? Except for harsh punishment for doing it, which is always going to be hard to make judgment calls on anyway.
@JoeyBarnes85@Motorsport Why do they have it stuck in their heads that a full course caution requires immediately closing the pits? If you leave the pits open for one lap then it solves most of the issues with the dumb luck of pitting on right / wrong side of a yellow.
@MXGRyan It’s ridiculous and doesn’t even make sense. Nothing Prado has done deserves that comparison. Webb is great but is showing his pettiness there.
@atRichalds@Lady_FanAccount Nobody is capable of reading and comprehending this short summary. Jagger and Richards had nothing to do with the former rightsholder suing, and once they had a say, they ceded the rights to Ashcroft and the Verve.
@mx_phreek@adamwheeler_R19 This is an excellent point. I’m not sure what the parallels are across motorsports, in which someone elevates clearly lesser equipment and wins a title.
@Snappybee55 OK. Doesn’t really change my point. If Brown wants to organize a boycott, he can answer for it publicly if the target of the boycott wants to make it known.
@TurkeyFryerDude Of course he didn’t. Are there people insane enough to blame him for *putting pressure* on Lawrence? Did they want the 450 Main to be a one-on-one match race?
@BetweenHaulers Nobody is going to purposely run second rather than win for an extra grand. It’s weird but doesn’t bother me. Is it suppose to be a nod to Steve or what?
