It just rain for a couple of hours. I'm going to let Mother nature do her thing and plant my marigolds, chamomile and calendula today on the garden's perimeter to keep the critters off my harvest this year. Works like a charm.
@RoguePrepared Yes! I use them for car work, orange glo rags, and layered they make excellent castor oil packs with a heating pad. Old shirt rags are awesome for the dreaded quarterly BBQ cleaning. Some cleanup jobs are too tough for paper towels.
@RoguePrepared I've been making almond butter for 9 yrs. Once a month, I soak them, pop the skins, and roast them. I also make protein bars every week with almond butter. 1 bag at Costco makes 3 full jars. Lasts about a month in our household. I use the flat plate on my Champion juicer.

5 more hurricane prep tips: Ensure all vehicles have a full tank of gas. Top up your propane tank. Charge cell phones and tablets fully. Stock up on easy to grab food items like protein bars/granola bars. Change all batteries in multiple flashlights.
@RoguePrepared Yes, and if I'm out, I toast bread "ends" and make my own. Bread crumbs are also great for thickening soups, stews and sauces if the aren't reducing. If they go stale, throw them in a dish to feed orioles, cardinals and doves :)
