where can I run from Your presence?
where can I flee from You?
even if I hide on the highest mountain
You are there
even if I lie on the lowest valley
You will find me there
Deeper than the ocean
Higher than any mountain
Your love goes on and on and on and on

Know His heart.
His Word.
His will.
His perspective.
His agenda.
His presence.
To truly know Him should be our highest pursuit.
God alone is worthy of first place in our lives.
With God’s empowering grace, we are called to nurture the desires that align with His will and to starve (put to death) those that compete with our love for Him.
“Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a little child shall not enter it.”
~Luke 18:16-17🕊
God did not design marriage to be some casual thing that's just like, "I love you/feel attracted to you, let's spend the rest of our lives together."
It's a lifelong vehicle of sanctification designed to make us more like Christ –– a commitment to crucifying daily ourselves for another person, and to loving them specifically when it's extremely hard to do so, and we don't particularly want to.
This is the purpose of marriage. It isn't meant solely for our own pleasure and gratification –– it's meant to help us learn how to model the perfect love Jesus Christ has for His church.
Pick the wrong person or fail to live out the vocation properly, and you're in for one hell of a bad time.
But if you pick the right person, and you're both committed to doing things right and keeping Jesus at the center... I'm not sure there's an upper limit to how much beauty, joy, and meaning can come from it.
