My parents, who have been provided FREE settled status due to Brexit ( and rightly so) can enter the UK on their Italian passports. Surely therefore any British nationals with dual passports should also be afforded the same treatment, and given a FREE certificate of entitlement.

@ukhomeoffice could someone advise me WHY my birth certificate and my Italian passport, which states I was born in London pre 1983, are not sufficient evidence that I am a British citizen and therefore should not need additional documentation to enter UK if I go abroad?

@TweAllthaMatter @Channel4News Also, my Italian passport states I was born in London. Anyone born in UK pre 1983 is automatically British, so that also proves my British citizenship. All the airlines would have to do is check my DOB on the passport.

@TweAllthaMatter @Channel4News Then they should provide the right to enter evidence for FREE as they did with settled status residents. Both needed now as a result of Brexit in mine and my families case. There's a reason multiple MP are fighting this in parliament.

@TweAllthaMatter @Channel4News What's your confusion? My parents didn't have to pay for their settled status/E-visa and don't have to show it actually. Why should I have to pay to prove my citizenship? It should be given for free just like settled status was.

@OneHaleyStar @Channel4News Whats not righ about it however is that my parents can travel at no extra cost on their Italian passports due to settled status which was free to obtain ( quite rightly) but I, as a British citizen, have to pay extra. It's a joke.
