I’ve applied for well over 15 dogs on an adoption page and I’ve never gotten a response and then daily they’re like “no one wants this dog and we don’t know why”. Check your DMs hun!!!

We have just returned home from another hard night. The rain was torrential: people came wet, cold and hungry, needing sleeping bags and tents.

We have noticed that when the weather condition is harsh, with heavy rain like today, people come drenched and exhausted.
Unfortunately their tents tend to collapse in the rain, their sleeper bags soaked as they are not waterproof, so we make sure to come prepared beforehand.

We took that into account this morning and prepared a large stock that was cleared out.

It was sad to see the length of the queue especially in this terrible weather, people standing in the rain with no shelter, quietly waiting to get some food.

It is extremely hard when you see people's clothes soaked to the skin, you don't even ask yourself if they are in need, because who would stay in that rain all night just to get a bit of hot food or tea and biscuits?

That is the sad reality of the situation.

The weather will remain this way for the next week and with no proper support in place, we urge you to donate generously to help those desperately in need. Thank you and have a great weekend.

But I don’t think the answer is to have more gardaí! Open injection centres, provide help for addiction, tackle homelessness…. ! Any rejuvenation of the city has to be part of a social change & economic change in Ireland!

Lots of people are saying that people are overreacting to the state of O’Connell street but personally I think it’s a genuinely scary place to walk around especially after dark. Having been verbally abused and followed while walking down it I have a fair reason to be.
