FYI, I decided to do a slight name shift. I started this account as a space to complain about all the things that bothered me about specific fandoms, but that isn't how I have really ever used it

So this really isn't a salt account, it's a discourse account in the Foucault sense

Gonna be blunt, if you hate AI for the fact that it destroys the environment, then you should be welcoming this change.

Plastics can take hundreds of years to decompose. Paper takes a few months. This makes a difference environmentally.

The thing purists continually forget is that changing real definitions of real life harmful behaviors to suit your fictional narrative to make them more palatable is in fact a bad thing. Stop softening terms like 'toxic' and 'abusive' when they're serious for a reason.

I think this post nails it. You can't judge someone's safety and morality based on easy heuristics. Especially not by their taste in art. You have to actually pay attention to their behaviour.

One of the most dangerous modern developments in fandom spaces is this. Minors acting as NSFW vigilantes has become so normalized young 20-something adults will encourage minors to do this w/o seeing the issue because they participated as minors as well. We need a safety overhaul

This is absolutely true, no one can predict what becomes the next big thing on TikTok. Sudden fame can be thrilling but also TERRIFYING AF.

That's why I have sympathy. I don't condone sending out henchmen but the fear and panic is too real.
