@BigEarsGlenn @Scarlet45425754@itsPKav Mansplaining is ultimately about taking down to people. Discussing it is not the no-win situation you're describing, but if you can't discuss it without talking down to people, they're gonna point out the irony.
@juliettestacyy@realDonaldTrump Fuck Trump, but your second and third bullet point are just the exact same point with slightly different wording and I can't deal with it
@63Sneakers @whitestvoid @CtrlAltIkigai @accidental_left That's not really important, we analyze Marx for his ideas, he isn't heralded bc he passed an IQ test.
@Jah_car_rah@Pearlofwisdommm Where do you think the sneeze comes from? It's your respiratory droplets, and there's plenty more in your nose and mouth at all times
@heelmisschien @_hydrated@MadMarx__ @eastrock87 @atreyupilled Homes should belong to the people who live in them. Home ownership would be much more attainable if rent-seeking behavior didn't drive up the cost of home while landlords seek passive income. Additionally, there is no shortage of empty houses, an inflated market keeps ppl out.
@_hydrated@MadMarx__ @eastrock87 @atreyupilled People can manage their own housing. Every notice how landlords themselves never live in rental housing?
@heelmisschien @StalinsrightNut@_hydrated@MadMarx__ @eastrock87 @atreyupilled What's happening in NOLA right now, communities activly resisting landlords, is probably where I'd start. There's a few gov solutions too, higher min wage, rent control, expanding tenants rights, freeze on luxury housing development. None perfect imo.
@heelmisschien @_hydrated@MadMarx__ @eastrock87 @atreyupilled Saying only landlords incentivize new building projects is like saying only car rental companies buy new cars.
@heelmisschien @_hydrated@MadMarx__ @eastrock87 @atreyupilled Renters can't afford property because renting is way expensive, no chance to build savings.
@heelmisschien @_hydrated@MadMarx__ @eastrock87 @atreyupilled Not necessary, there is enough housing supply to house everyone who is homeless by many factors. Without landlords, home buyers purchasing for their own use will drive the market (as they do now)
@ShmeatHammer@thebl0w@thefader You're moving the goalposts. It used to be viable for professional artists to make albums every few years, they are telling you that services like Spotify are making it less viable, and Spotify is agreeing! How do you not get it?
