Today we are celebrating our 8th-grade graduate Laken T.! Laken joined The Discovery School in the 4th grade and always showed great interest in creative activities. She was a part of our Middle School Band and created many artistic projects inside and outside of Discovery.
Congratulations, Luke C., on graduating from the 8th grade! Luke joined our community in Middle School and has shown amazing persistence in achieving his goals.

This week's highlight is our 8th-grade graduate, Elizabeth S.! Elizabeth joined The Discovery School recently and quickly became a big part of our community, from playing dodgeball with Foundational Elementary to hiding books in the community parks as part of the Find a Book Jax.
Fifth grader Doga Tankut represented the Discovery School in the final round of the Duval County Spelling Bee on Thursday, February 25, at Sandalwood High School. We are so proud of Doga for the extra effort she put into preparing for the bee!
Out of an abundance of caution, The Discovery School will be closed Thursday, November 12, 2020, due to the impending storm. There will be no remote learning. We plan to return to campus on Friday, November 13, 2020. If our plans change, we will reach out to you again.

Many of you know Mr. Zak as a Math Specialist, however this year, he also assumed a new role of Remote Learning Coordinator for Elementary and Middle School. "Whether it is face to face learning or remote learning, we keep the magic of Discovery happening,"-says Mr. Zak.
In many of our classes in elementary and middle school, remote learners are present for morning meetings, enrichments, math, and language arts. They even get to be part of group assignments and participate in discussions with their peers!
