A few things:
1) This is obvs a few months old (QCEW data are lagged), and there does seem to have been an upturn in the mfg sector over the summer, AND
2) The sector was losing jobs at roughly the same clip during 2024-25, BUT
3) There was clearly no Tariff Jobs BOOM last year
So, BLS' latest Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages report - released last Friday & considered the "gold standard" for US labor market data - showed much larger US manufacturing job losses last year (-159k) than the monthly BLS payrolls report (-68k) for the same period:
Bonnet height in cars increasing is terrible for pedestrians in case of accidents. This is a case of weighing consumer preferences (people like driving in bigger cars) and public health concerns (more dangerous for pedestrians) against each other.
