@AW_Baker If the rate of the child's growth slows to a plateau, you may be reaching final height.
If you simply continue to increase caloric intake without taking that into account, they won't grow any taller, just get obese.
@SOL_Grabber@ElshadKarbasi M&S is a private business. You're telling them what to sell and not sell.
Frankly, the state shouldn't be in the business of prohibiting private businesses from selling pastries to whomever wants to eat them.
@Chesedgirl I remember being overly sensitive pp too; I made the mistake of watching an episode of House where a baby died and sobbed.
But- referring to a therapeutic abortion publically as "discarding a baby" is pretty insensitive, and affects others who might also be grieving that.
@__apf__@tallowqueen A slice of bread has around 3 grams of protein, more if you're eating getting the good stuff like seeded. You might be getting more than you think.
@VicKante@found_it_funny China stopped doing pure economic communism after Mao died in '78. When Deng Xiaoping (imprisoned for 2 year under Mao) took over, he shifted the party to a more capitalist economic approach.

@rihwooby@jdpoc It was one of these things: https://t.co/FK25hUCMgk
They look like pedestrian crossings but they're not, cars don't actually have to stop.
@rihwooby@jdpoc Yeah I get that now. But it's very confusing.
The new Waitrose near us bragged it was putting in a pedestrian crossing, but it's the kind cars aren't actually legally obligated to stop at so it's effectively pointless.
I feel tricked.
@Drezdenwiz@Aella_Girl The infant period is really tough but not so bad when you know it's temporary.
The psychological toll of knowing it'll never end even when you're old and sick and can't even take care of yourself let alone another person... it is pretty tough.
@Drezdenwiz@Aella_Girl That's completely false. Most parents can expect their children to gain increasing independence until they're hardly needed at all.
There's a massive difference in quality of life between caring for a newborn infant and having a phone call with your independent adult child.
@StefanFSchubert@lkesteloot Neuroticism was perhaps more useful in the EEA. Worrying the neighbouring tribe is going to raid you in the middle of the night- actually prevents your death by keeping you up. Worrying about your low stakes job- mostly just bad for you.
