@Chesedgirl I remember being overly sensitive pp too; I made the mistake of watching an episode of House where a baby died and sobbed.

But- referring to a therapeutic abortion publically as "discarding a baby" is pretty insensitive, and affects others who might also be grieving that.

@VicKante @found_it_funny China stopped doing pure economic communism after Mao died in '78. When Deng Xiaoping (imprisoned for 2 year under Mao) took over, he shifted the party to a more capitalist economic approach.

The new Waitrose near us bragged it was putting in a pedestrian crossing, but it's the kind cars aren't actually legally obligated to stop at so it's effectively pointless.

I feel tricked.

The psychological toll of knowing it'll never end even when you're old and sick and can't even take care of yourself let alone another person... it is pretty tough.

There's a massive difference in quality of life between caring for a newborn infant and having a phone call with your independent adult child.

@StefanFSchubert @lkesteloot Neuroticism was perhaps more useful in the EEA. Worrying the neighbouring tribe is going to raid you in the middle of the night- actually prevents your death by keeping you up. Worrying about your low stakes job- mostly just bad for you.
