YouTuber Jesse Ridgway defends decision to terminate wife’s pregnancy after Down syndrome diagnosis: I don’t want to ‘bury my son’ https://t.co/CB9GrbIims
If their baby had been born with Down syndrome and they had not known beforehand, would you support them taking it home and drowning it in a bathtub? After all, it’s their child and they weren’t prepared to be inconvenienced.
Having children has made me a lot more pro-choice.
Taking care of children is hard. Part of the payoff is imagining them living full lives as adults.
I don’t know how anyone could find the motivation to take care of them if they knew that wasn’t possible. That’s why only religious people don’t abort in these situations.
Yall do realize if both parents know they are not prepared to care for a child w/ disabilities, it would literally negatively impact both the parents and the child’s quality of life??
What if you get the test and it’s a false negative? No Downs positive but then the baby is born and has downs? How long after it’s born should you be allowed to execute it, Ed? 24 hours? A couple days? A week or two?
“One day, his wife found him dead, and, strange circumstance, he held in his hand a mysterious paper, on which, in large characters, was traced this terrifying avowal: ‘I now know there is a Hell.’” -Fr. F.X. Schouppe, SJ “The Dogma of Hell.”
Emile Signol, Awakening of the Just, Awakening of the Wicked, c.1835 - Inspired by Biblical passages from the Book of Job, the painting vividly contrasts the afterlife fates of the righteous and the damned.
@ascent_of Imagine trying to slander the Catholic Church and doing such a ridiculously bad job that the Protestants are calling you out for it and discrediting you.
>Loss of their unborn child
That loss was caused by them paying a hitman to rip that child to shreds. Don’t use the terminology of miscarriages to describe an abortion.
Forcing people to carry babies with genetic abnormalities to term, and then to care for them with little assistance for the rest of their lives, will only discourage people from having kids.
This guy made the right choice for his family, and that choice will lead to other kids.
90% of people who are told their fetus will have Down syndrome end the pregnancy. Virtually none talk about it. This is common and yet shrouded in shame. I’m not sure piling more shame onto it helps anyone, although I’m sure it makes some people feel morally superior.
This is actually what IVF is, by the way except you line up all 12 or 20 of them or whatever, pick your favorite and have the Hitman murder all the runner ups.
To the parents who terminate their children because they receive a less than favorable diagnosis. What do you do if your next child has another one?
Keep killing them till you get a “good one”?
I asked this person if they advocated for killing a child if they became disabled a few years after birth.
He said, of course not, that would be killing a person. That's wrong.
I then asked how many weeks into a pregnancy does he think a baby in the womb becomes a person
He said 15-20 weeks
Ladies and gentlemen, the DS baby that was recently aborted passed his personhood threshold. (She was 20 weeks)
So according to his own moral framework, aborting that baby was murder.
He remained silent after I pointed that out to him.
These people are ghouls. They have no consistent ethics and their only Northstar is their pleasure.
