@karljulianmorr1 @GarethDMorris @ThatJohnJones@carla_denyer In sunderland a taxi driver had rocks thrown at his car as demonstrators walked by. In Southport a non white man was punched in the face as he tried to walk through the crowd.
#TransPride in London & Brighton has always been open and inclusive. Trans allies are always welcome, nobody is ever excluded. Only people who've never attended pretend it's exclusionist, or Anti-LGB, even in their own event trans people made space for us, and we stand with them.
@LGBwiththeT Criticis of this annual event will never mention the thousands of non-trans allies in attendance. Hundreds of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, non-binaries, straights and cis folk too. They have to sell the narrative of "us v them" to hide the intersectional solidarity of trans pride.
@GayGordon84 Anyone who is quote tweeted by that account faces dozens of hateful comments. You can't pretend they're silencing opposition in their online space when literally dozens of people coordinate harassment against them simultaneously.
Posie Parker uses a base of "free speech" to harass trans people in public, and call for their extermination, the far-right always lean on "freeze peach" to target Muslims and queer people. But the moment a trans women says something condemnable, they demand she be silenced.
The incident around Sarah Jane Baker serves to highlight how crowds that use "free speech" as a justification for their continued harassment will pull that carpet from beneath the feet of anyone they disagree with. They demand free speech they'd deny to anyone else.
@haydenappleby@SamDoak5 Go on and pretend it's one nutter in a crowd of moderates. Ignore that they share your narrative. Ignore that your narrative drew them in, told them it's okay to do whatever is necessary to "protect children" by breaking pub windows and assaulting queer people.
@haydenappleby@SamDoak5 You've said this is about queer people grooming children. That lie has been repeated for weeks, until the point actual Nazis attacked the event, repeated accusations of grooming justified their violence in the narrative you created. Result? Assaulted queer people, no saved kids.
@haydenappleby@SamDoak5 If your demo pulls Nazis, queer people get assaulted, property is damaged, and organisers refuse to denounce it, before, during, or after, then your points about "child welfare" are null/void. Turns out accusing queer people of grooming lays ground for violence against them.
@haydenappleby@SamDoak5 The extremist at the "pro-life" rally doesn't care about protecting life, he wants to take away women's choice. The Nazi at the "child welfare" protest doesn't care about kids, he's anti trans. Under the guise of "protecting children" a homophobic org attracted Nazis...
@haydenappleby@SamDoak5 Well I disagree that the protest was even about protecting children. I believe that's a cover for wanting to deny representation to queer artists. Parents Chose to let their kids go to the show. Nazis don't care about child welfare, or indoctrination. TPUK is explicitly antitrans
Somehow I suspect all the TERFs homing in on this incident won't comment on Posie Parker also insighting violence against trans people on her protests and demanding their elimination and restriction of their access to healthcare, jobs, and positions in local government.
Solidarity with Sarah and all prisoners. Fire to the prisons now, or at least stop using parole as a fucking leash and just let people exist. Trans people are allowed to be angry when we are under relentless attack. Release Sarah Jane Baker immediately and drop all charges.
@CentralAnti Posie Parker literally wants to forcefully detransition trans adults, block all transition for trans minors, and ban all access to public spaces, public facing jobs, and wishes death on trans people, all this is her words. She is anti trans because SHE SAYS SHE Is, we must fight
@haydenappleby@SamDoak5 Well if its attracting literal extremists, it must be negative somehow. The discussion over children and LGBT people is one I'd rather have in private one on one with you, different topic.
Its really not a bold move to say "sure Nazis share some of my views, it's not my fault".
@haydenappleby@SamDoak5 Like you know a neo-Nazi doesn't really care about children, or women's rights. He's there to fight with left wing and queer people, and an anti-trans anti-drag protest gave him the space and support to do that.
@haydenappleby@SamDoak5 I agree he doesn't represent everyone there. It wasn't a Nazi protest... But again, if Nazis are drawn to your protest, you Have to ask why? What do you share with them? There is a streak of transphobia and homophobia within that protest, it's what attracted hard-line extremists
@haydenappleby@SamDoak5 If one Nazi is in your crowd, isn't challenged, isn't objected from the group, isn't condemned before, during, or after attending. Then you're on the side of Nazis.
If your protest has transphobes, racists, Nazis, or mysognists, they're there for a reason, they're with you.
@LouiseRawAuthor@uaf@Searchlight_mag@SUTR_SELondon@AntiRacismDay I don't doubt it, I just want to see this information, either layed out or put against evidence we already have. Like they say these faces are familiar amongst C18, b&h, etc, I'd like to see the proof, or previous evidence, or names or photos from other demos.
