I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it. -T. Jefferson
From the days of John the Baptist until now,
the kingdom of heaven suffers violence,
and the violent are taking it by force.
-Matthew 11-12
@AUTigerx89 Makes a huge difference. The Senate needs only 50 votes to confirm a judge. Also, the Supreme Court hears less than 2% of the cases appealed to it. So lower court decisions are usually final. So a single conservative judge is better than any 20 liberal judges.
@Mrgunsngear Hurt. The legacy media, which controls the nightly news where most Americans get their news, will spin it is brutal tactics of a fascist administration. Even the current limited deportations of criminals or those with deportation orders is played that way by the Media.
@AUTigerx89@Mrgunsngear Yes, you’re nuts. The second order effect will no conservative judges confirmed for two years. Then if a Democrat is elected President, we will flood of liberal judges.
And, GO DAWGS!!
@smerconish WTH Michael? Your poll question answers are too extreme. Maybe we are so divided because people see every choice binary. Finding the middle ground is viewed as selling out your belief/side.
A 3rd option for today’s poll question: Breaks are a necessary for financial support.
@smerconish This is a fantasy. Half of “Independents” have only voted for one party. I ageee they may have diverse views, but single issues or emotional reactions will keep “Independents” from voting for a better candidate. Ex TDS or single issue like legalization of weed.
@Arkypatriot People would be surprised how many professional musicians join the Armed Forces. As a Basic Training BN XO, I saw numerous new soldiers w/ Master’s degrees in music. And, at least, one PhD. FT Jackson’s small band was highly professional. The WO in charge was a true professional.
@Mrgunsngear 2 Lessons:
-Never let a stranger just walk up to contact range w/out preparing yourself. Get your hands out front & verbally confront. My fav, “Do I know you?”
- Let them walk away & shut your mouth. The female should have said nothing & made a digital record. Be a good witness
@smerconish Michael, you said luck was an important factor in success. That’s BS.
There is no such thing as luck. There is only adequate or inadequate preparation to cope with a statistical universe. Robert A. Heinlein. Or to paraphrase: being prepared to take advantage of opportunities
@smerconish Here’s part of the problem. We were told by the Legacy Media as a society you need to tolerate, <<enter subject here>>.
Then we’re told you must accept or you are <<enter thr ism here>>.
Now you must embrace or you’re fair game for anything we do against you.
@ATabarrok Watch the precision of the flyover. Technically it’s the execution of the wartime mission of a time on target attack. Usually directed by Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) specialists located in or near the venue. It’s training that serves the secondary mission, public relations.
@BuzzPatterson@TheHRH Buzz, great & highly instructive tale. I think most career military have encounter such thinking. I was home on leave at around 10 yrs of service, my very progressive sister once told me if the draft was reinstated, she would send her sons to Canada.
@SGTWipper1Each Fort Polk is the worst. I was stationed at Drum, Benning, Hood, Polk, & Jackson. Spent significant TDY at Stewart, Campbell, Bragg & Riley.
ALSO, Hood was the best. I was in 2-8 IN, 4ID; best BN on Post (120% retention). Also I loved central TX
@Her_Nonymous_D My parents owned 16 units. They always had a few tenants that were risks (bad rental history or 1st time renters). About 75% eventually moved or were removed. One of the 25%ers was a long time tenant, she was an older mother w/ 2 kids. She was occasionally late, but always paid.
@smerconish Here is the logical answer: People want privacy. Everyone constantly carries an excellent camera and can post these pictures to social media quickly. Often without thought to second and third order effects.
@smerconish Their defense of both BLM & Jan 6 rioters made them perfect guests due to their inside knowledge of how the govt pursued, prosecuted & sentenced rioters with similar charges/convictions.
@krazyskott@Mrgunsngear It’s suppose to be “Reasonable Doubt.” Unfortunately, many jurors don’t understand the concept or meaning of reasonable or they want jury nullification of the charges.
