🇪🇸 Spain filled the streets today over Ceuta, and Madrid had to clear parts of the city with riot gear after the crowds.

Tens of thousands turned out after a late-July border surge sent tens of thousands of Moroccan men into a Spanish city of about 80,000.

Most of those who crossed went back.

Thousands are still there, and the city has been living with fear in the streets, attacks on camps, stones thrown at patrols, and a prosecutor file of sexual assaults that includes migrant girls.

The government has sent police and troops.

People in Ceuta and the opposition still say that came late.

Stiamo convocando gli organismi preposti, e all'esito di queste riunioni siamo pronti a intervenire anche con strumenti straordinari per difendere i confini e la sicurezza dei cittadini, come la sospensione dello spazio Schengen con la Spagna.

Sull’immigrazione clandestina non arretreremo di un millimetro: difendere i confini, fermare i trafficanti di esseri umani e garantire rimpatri efficaci continuerà a essere la linea di questo Governo.
