The violence I am witnessing across Burma today is hard for me to watch. I'm struggling to process this level of brutality by the armed forces against their own people. I am also thinking about the media putting their lives on the line to report & show the world this injustice.
In Myawaddy, a Burmese border town, thousands are showing up daily to demonstrate against the Myanmar military coup. Protesters have called for an abolishment of the Constitution and democracy. #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar#HearTheVoiceOfMyanmar#Myanmarcoup
Police and soldiers use rubber bullets and slingshots against anti-coup protesters around Mandalay’s branch of the Central Bank of Myanmar. Journalists reporting on the event were also beaten by the security forces. (Photo: The Irrawaddy)
