Valve co-founder Gabe Newell responded to accusations that Steam operates as a monopoly in the PC gaming market
Addressing the criticism, Newell said gamers have “plenty of options” when buying games.
According to him, players can choose from many digital stores, including rival platforms and stores run by game publishers themselves.
Valve says Steam’s success comes from a service that both gamers and developers willingly choose.
Hate meeting people because if they tell me they're left-handed all I want is to watch them write for hours, every time I like a friend and then they tell me they're left-handed I scream into my hands and cry, regretting that I'll never be normal about lefties
Everyone please go and read this regardless of your feeling of the ending. This is just one giant love letter and thank you to Chainsaw Man and the impact it has on us, the readers.
Yesterday I solo queued in the jp server on Valorant and somehow queued into a full female team..!!
Since my voice is naturally on the deeper side, one of the girls immediately got curious and started interrogating me 😭
Her: “Are you a man or a woman?”
Me: “Woman.”
Her: “Your voice is so nice!”
Her: “How old are you?”
Me: “31.”
The entire team suddenly woke up.
Everyone: “31?! 31?!?!?!”
Me: “🥲 yes…”
Then the same girl kept going:
Her: “Do you have a boyfriend?”
Me: “No.”
Her: “Girlfriend?”
Me: “*scoffs* No, I’m straight…”
A few seconds of silence… then:
Her: “…Can I be your girlfriend?”
Me: “Uh, no??? How old are you?”
Her: “18!”
Me: “muri(無理).”
then she started screaming into the mic:
Her: “WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY 😭😭😭 YOUNG THINGS ARE BETTER, NOOOOO???”
Me: *choked and coughing*
younglings nowadays 🙂↔️🙂↔️🙂↔️🙂↔️
Japan’s fund for retired racehorses has raised more than 1.8 million US dollars over the past 10 years, mostly thanks to fans of the mobile game Umamusume Pretty Derby.
This fund, called the Nice Nature Memorial Donation, is run by the Retired Horse Association of Japan. It uses the money to pay for vet care, safe homes, and other needs so old racehorses can live well after they stop racing.
The fund started small in 2017, but donations jumped more than 30 times higher after the game came out in February 2021.
People gave about 35.8 million Japanese yen, or around 225,000 US dollars, in that first year alone because fans fell in love with the characters based on real horses and learned about the hard life of retired horses from the game and its TV show.
Even after the real horse Nice Nature died in May 2023 at age 35, people still donate a lot to the fund named in her honor.
Fans have also helped other horses by raising money to fix stables for Meisho Doto and by giving support to Haru Urara.
