When former HE said I am gone , he really meant it. He has not involved himself in politics here for the most part since he was removed from power, now he is just catching fights and not …
@wabpan Welfare
Each time you see a rundown hospital or boarding students sleeping on floors, remember that the UDC govt spends a few hundred millions/billions a year so that me, with decent pay, can pay P3.25 less a month for water and P50 less on electricity. Curse them!
/End
@wabpan 2. Now the smarties running our broke govt have volunteed to pay for all. Incl me to save Bomaid some cash. The shortermism has delivered short term results. I argue, govt does not have the long term financial muscle to run SKMTH and that MoH is not competent to run the hospital
@wabpan SKMTH
1. Under NDP 12, govt, realising it is overburdened with healthcare costs, seeks to reduce its portion of spending from 85 to 65%. Before the restructure, if I need a service at SKMTH, Bomaid would pay. Govt then could have a lil more for those who cant afford their way.
@wabpan 3. But my reply had been on the chronic medications program that had been outsourced to BPOMAS. Beautiful program that was competently managed. Besides the pain and suffering of our grandma's, now, what has UDC replaced it with that is better?
@wabpan Medicines
1. Granted, in the aftermath of COVID in 2022/23 and comodity shortages then, we had medicines shortages. We did not have medicines shortages in 2024. Below, medicines availability reports as published by MoH. A month before and after UDC took office.
@wabpan 2. About 5 months into the new admin, meds were at 15% and govt had, in some attempt at deceit, ceased reporting availability as above, switching to parading boxes of gloves. What started where really? Has Modise' solutions to pricing and processes been better than the problem?
@wabpan 2. Using the same Kanye project you referenced, can we confidently say we have local companies with the capacity to absorb P3 billion in overruns, as would have been in Kanye? And that they have interest in this risk? The initial EOR had v high financial capacity requirements.
@wabpan On DM
1. You do not seem to suggest the UDC has a better alternative for managing cost and time overruns. You only complain about citizen participation and not even that qualified citizens were excluded. Are you not going to complain about DM costs? I was itching for that one..
@wabpan 4. I would argue again, Temo and Thuo Letlolo to the extent they promoted machinisation, access to finance, a focus on prodn, commercialisation etc were good policies. UDC has nothing. Farmers who feel better off under UDC are hard to come by.
@wabpan On agric
1. Lemang Dijo is not new. It is a spin off of the Household Food Security component of Temo Letlotlo. Its objectives are specific and limited.
2. Add A Di Tsale to BDP policies. The new guys fervently campaigned against those bulls and botched the policy rollout...
@wabpan 3. Now, the sole UDC policy is the lifting of the ban. The ban had a sole objective of increasing local prodn and achieved that end. Other issues listed there were foreseeable and would have factored into the initial policy appraisal, or manageable, eg, through the CEDA market..
@7a1th@simon_madowa A good start would have been not canceling the chronic medications program that was outsourced to BPOMAS. It was a very good program that should have been expanded, not canned.
@KesaMakhaya He deserves zero sympathy and every bad thing that comes his way. Right now he's only holding on because people believe the lie ya gore o itlhetse go sena melemo.
@KitsoThato_ Foster parenting too, it should be made a lot easier. Sometimes what a woman really wants is a lil help for a lil while so they sort themselves out for a bit. Say maybe they wish to focus on completing a final year of school or are still job hunting and unstable.
