Shri Alok Deepankar, Member (Projects), NHAI, chaired a review meeting in Bhubaneswar today to assess the progress of ongoing National Highway projects across Odisha and discuss measures for their timely completion.
🚨National Highway Alert
To provide a smoother and comfortable ride, Bituminous Concrete laying is in full swing on the Pallahara–Pitiri stretch of NH-149. This will help to strengthen the pavement and improve road safety on the corridor.
We use the National Highway every day, yet we rarely notice the stories it carries!
Along NH-16 in Bhubaneswar, a key corridor connecting people and possibilities, there’s more than just movement—there are stories waiting to be discovered.
The Elephant Underpass on the Singhara–Binjhabahal stretch of NH-49, built by NHAI, is currently under construction and is designed to provide a safe path for elephants and other wildlife to cross the highway, reducing accidents and human–wildlife conflict.
In addition, it will permanently remove five major accident-prone spots, supporting better connectivity, stronger infrastructure and overall regional development.

The Banarpal–Godibandha 4-laning project will make travel safer and faster. It will reduce fuel consumption, lower transport costs and ease traffic congestion. The project will also improve the movement of minerals from Keonjhar, Joda, Kalta and Barbil, NTPC Talcher and MCL.
.... Even though these are works of fiction but feels accurate. Here's a question... Is it really normal to feel like killing yourself because someone you loved is no more? Or is it just a coincidence that two great writers have written around the same thing.
I am watching "After Life". Lovely show created by Ricky Gervais. Every scene has philosophy in it. Its about a man who has lost a loved one and are now in grief. While grieving he has suicidal thoughts regularly. It got me thinking, I recently read Imtermezzo by Sally Rooney...
.... it also deals with a similar plot where the leads have lost a loved one and while in grief one of them have suicidal thoughts. Surprisingly, everyone around keeps telling them that 'u r having suicidal thoughts 'cos u r in pain but u dont have to kill yourself'....
Anora is a witty, beautifully shot, fast paced movie. I did not think that they have started giving Oscars to these kind of movies otherwise i would have watched it earlier
The Pallahara–Pitiri section of NH-149 is being improved with Dense Bituminous Macadam and Bituminous Concrete along with junction upgrades. The work is in progress and is expected to be completed by May 2026, which will make travel smoother and safer.

The 17 km long Banarpal–Godibandha–Talcher stretch of NH-53 and NH-149, costing ₹973 crore is being developed as a four-lane road to ease traffic, improve road safety and allow faster movement of passengers and goods.
I've read "Intermezzo" recently. Of late I don't read as many books as I did earlier so it took me almost 2 months to finish it. This novel is amongst the best ones which I have read so far. Modern love, dealing with grief, sibling relationship. All intermixed together
