Following the creation of the Football Sovereignty League a few weeks ago, Burkina Faso President Captain Ibrahim Traoré met with regional governors and issued guidelines.
Now the league, which will have teams from all regions, has set 200,000 FCFA as the minimum monthly salary for any recruit, ranging from players to coaches, among the 1,000 jobs in the sector.
The meeting brought together regional authorities, business officials, and celebrated athletes in Burkina Faso.
"We must involve the regions because we have decided to give our sport an identity. And competition is also created in this way." “If there is no identity, it will be difficult to embrace the very thing needed to support an athlete or a team,” declared the President of Burkina Faso, Comrade Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
“Your primary responsibility is engaged. It will be up to you to coordinate the recruitment of coaches, to organize regional championships, and to select the young players who will be part of the team,” stated the President of Burkina Faso.
He warned against shady deals that would deprive players of their earnings.

He could have taken his wife and family and traveled to the InterContinental Hotel in Switzerland or another fancy destination in Europe or America, but he chose to go to his people up North.
The President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has received a heroic welcome in Ouahigouya, the capital of the country’s Yaadga Northern Region.
The population came out in large numbers on the streets to catch a glimpse of him. They could be seen very excited, cheering a leader who stands with his people.
He could have simply called the people to meet him at the presidential palace, yet he went there himself to discuss the country’s future.
According to the presidency, Captain Ibrahim Traoré was able to hold frank and direct discussions on issues of interest to the region and the progress of our country, which is committed to the irreversible path of the Popular Progressive Revolution.
This happened on Thursday.
The Presidency said the President will continue his stay in the City of Naaba Kango, where he will hold official audiences with various socio-professional groups.
This is happening at a time when the African Union Commission chairperson, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, is in Burkina Faso.
Traore chose to go to his people instead of waiting to receive the AU Commission chair, who was received by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

In Burkina Faso, the government has brought together more than 1,000 traditional herbalists as part of efforts to modernize the country’s traditional medicine sector.
The government believes many herbalists hold generations of knowledge about medicinal plants that deserves proper scientific research and testing.
Instead of letting that knowledge disappear, they want to study it, improve it, and see what can be produced safely on a larger scale.
Remember, long before modern hospitals, many African communities relied on traditional medicine for generations.
Every day I am excited about the future Elon is building towards. Tesla self-driving cars over 7x safer than human-only-driven cars and improving with every update, Tesla Cybercab robotaxis which will be much cheaper and more fun than traditional Uber and taxis, Neuralink which will help and/or cure blindness, deafness, paralysis, and more, Starlink which already connects nearly the whole world to reliable internet will expand to the Moon and Mars to be connected with Earth, Tesla Megapacks and solar to harness the power of the Sun and automate electricity needs, Tesla Optimus humanoid robot labor force to eliminate poverty and greatly enhance the lives of every person on Earth, building data centers in space and on the Moon to increase the intelligence of AI beyond belief to improve our lives and learn new things about the universe. One day in our lifetime anyone will be able to travel to the Moon and Mars and it will be because of Elon Musk's SpaceX Starship... But thinking beyond that... for the future of humanity, our descendants, and life itself... Space is our only answer as our local star (the Sun) expands in its death phase 100x sooner than nearby star systems that also contain Earth-like and/or habitable planets. So you could say that if humans never leave Earth... they will have only existed for less than 1% of their true potential. The future is bright and will only become more exciting with every day that passes! 🤖🚀🪐♾️
🚨 🇷🇺 Medvedev just said what millions across Africa and the Global South have known for generations.
Colonialism must be recognized as a crime against humanity.
Western elites still operate with the same old mindset of racial and national superiority. They dress it up as democracy, human rights, and partnerships while draining resources, installing puppets, and trapping nations in debt.
Russia is right on this. The world needs real international equality and the total end of neo-colonial practices. No more pretty words hiding the same old theft and control.
Africa has paid the highest price. It is time to name the crime, reject the double standards, and finish what our ancestors started.
Colonialism is a crime.
The fight for true sovereignty continues.
