On Holocaust Memorial Day, remember 6 million Jewish people and hundreds of thousands of Roma who were systematically murdered
At 8pm on 27 January, Holocaust Memorial Day Trust asks people to light candles and place them safely in their windows to remember those who were murdered for who they were, and stand against prejudice and hatred today.

Her name was RUTH BIRNOVÁ.
This Jewish woman born 06. 07. 1918, she was deported from Prague (Kaprova nº 6) to Theresienstadt -Transport Dh, no. 427 / 08.07.1943- and later deported with other 2483 people to Auschwitz -Transport Dl, no. 130 / 06.09.1943, where she was murdered.
July 8, 1942 | 1,170 non-Jewish & Jewish prisoners from #Paris are sent to #Auschwitz. They are forced to wear Green badges (common criminals) to hinder contact with other prisoners. They are communists and people imprisoned as part of the Night and Fog operation. (1/2)
17 June 1933 | An Italian Jewish girl, Emma Terracina, was born in Rome.
She was deported to #Auschwitz from Rome on 18 October 1943 and murdered in a gas chamber after selection on 23 October.
12 June 1916 | A Czech Jew, Bedřich Horowitz, was born in Prague.
He was deported to #Auschwitz from #Theresienstadt Ghetto on 20 January 1943. He did not survive.
