ANC Deputy Secretary’s Daughter Looted R14 Million From South Africans‼️‼️‼️

Katleho Mokonyane, daughter of ANC First Deputy Secretary-General Nomvula Mokonyane, and her business partner Bonelela “Buzza” Mgudlwa have been ordered by South Africa’s Special Tribunal to personally repay over R14 million linked to irregular COVID-19 PPE contracts awarded in 2020 by the Mpumalanga Department of Health.

On 25 March 2026, Judge David Makhoba ruled that the contracts issued to their company, Tark Group Pty Ltd, were unlawful and invalid from the outset, citing serious procurement violations and a lack of transparency.

The tribunal found evidence of fraudulent and dishonest conduct, piercing the corporate veil to hold both individuals personally liable and responsible for the SIU’s legal costs. Investigations revealed multiple irregularities, including no competitive bidding, failure to follow procurement processes, lack of SAHPRA accreditation, and undisclosed conflicts of interest.

While the Mpumalanga Department of Health did not oppose the case, the pair has indicated plans to challenge the ruling, as part of broader SIU efforts to recover funds lost through pandemic-related tender corruption.
