Congratulations to #OlgaNeuwirth for receiving the Ernst-von-Siemens Prize! It is an absolute pleasure (and challenge) to play her pieces! https://t.co/LCUoeXuCvh
In a very recent conversation about what i like in <songs> in general, i found out that narrativity (coming from A to B with coda) is my favorite feature. Very surprising, indeed, considering the amount of the abstract music i am playing myself.
I truly enjoy watching random muted videos of pianists while performing. Head noding, shoulder shaking, eyes towards heaven, eye-brows dancing... sometimes i even manage to guess which music they play 😸 honestly, it's often more fun than sonic performance! 🙈
It's #BandcampFriday which means all revenue goes to artists! Check out my latest album of improvisations on toy piano together with fabulous pianist Humay Qasimzade, based on 7 Azerbaijani folksongs! https://t.co/2xFhdYMJwl
#KarabakhCulturalGenocide 17 Why destroy the grave of a poetesse? The most important poetess of all time of Azerbaijan, Khurshid Banu Natavan's grave in Agdam was sacked and destroyed by Armenian forces. I saw her statue standing in 1992 and then the destruction in 2020
Is there a way to reduce the neccessity of 9-hour sleep? Honestly, i could go with 8, or even 7 and a half! Tried exercising, tried (and kept) vegetarian diet, nothing seems to affect the fact that i need 9 straight hours a day in order to function happily. Help?!
During the initial lockdown in March, I was practicing 4-5 hours daily, taking walks, writing poetry, baking, and I still felt like I wasn't being productive enough. 10 months later, I'm just trying to celebrate the small accomplishments, like sending an email. Or just breathing.
Since i embarked on this improvisation project of mine, my life started feeling a tiny bit lighter (more improvisatory, i guess?!).
