Today, a story nearly became my story.
While covering the flooding at Sampah Valley, I went back to the car to drop off some equipment. The water was at knee level, and as I made my way back, I stepped into an open gutter hidden in the floods and fell in.
I was trapped for a moment and genuinely panicked.
Thankfully, a man nearby pulled me out.
I’ve been replaying it in my mind ever since. It’s scary how quickly a routine assignment can turn into something else entirely.
Grateful to be safe. Grateful to the stranger who helped me.

Two days ago, I went to Agbogbloshie and three balls of tomatoes were 10 cedis. Three fucking balls. I asked the market women if I could get some of the local ones instead. They said I wouldn’t be able to find any.
