The indigenously designed 500 MWe Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR) at Kalpakkam has achieved First Criticality, marking a defining leap in India's civil nuclear journey.

BHEL is proud to be a key partner in this landmark achievement.

On the Primary Reactor Side, BHEL has contributed through:
✅ Manufacturing, supply and fabrication of the Inner Vessel and Thermal Baffle
✅ Technology development of the Steam Generator-Evaporator, Inner and Main Vessel

On the Secondary Side, #BHEL has supplied and erected the 500 MWe Main Plant Turbine Generator Package built on indigenous technology.

These landmark achievements reinforce BHEL’s role as a key partner in the Nation’s Nuclear Journey towards long term energy security and the vision of an #Aatmanirbhar and #viksitbharat

#BHEL is proud to celebrate the inauguration of the 1020 MW Punatsangchhu-II Hydroelectric Project (PHEP-II) by the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, The King of Bhutan.

This greenfield hydro project is developed by the Government of India and the Royal Government of Bhutan under a bilateral agreement.

BHEL has successfully commissioned all six units of this massive joint venture, supplying the complete Electro-Mechanical (E&M) works, featuring the highest head Francis Turbine (241 meters) ever commissioned in Bhutan for this turbine type. This achievement boosts BHEL's contribution to nearly 91% of Bhutan's total installed hydro capacity—a true testament to regional cooperation and engineering excellence!

बीएचईएल को राजभाषा के क्षेत्र में ‘उत्कृष्ट कार्यान्वयन’ एवं ‘श्रेष्ठ हिन्दी गृह पत्रिका’ के लिए राजभाषा विभाग, गृह मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार द्वारा राजभाषा के सर्वोच्च राष्ट्रीय सम्मान ‘राजभाषा कीर्ति पुरस्कार’ से सम्मानित किया गया है। ये पुरस्कार बीएचईएल के निदेशक (मानव संसाधन) श्री कृष्ण कुमार ठाकुर ने 14 सितंबर को गांधीनगर, गुजरात में आयोजित हिन्दी दिवस समारोह और 5वें अखिल भारतीय राजभाषा सम्मेलन के दौरान माननीय केन्द्रीय गृह एवं सहकारिता मंत्री श्री अमित शाह से प्राप्त किए।

उल्लेखनीय है कि बीएचईएल कॉर्पोरेट कार्यालय, नई दिल्ली को उत्कृष्ट राजभाषा कार्यान्वयन के लिए ‘क क्षेत्र में स्थित सार्वजनिक उपक्रमों' की श्रेणी में 'द्वितीय पुरस्कार' से सम्मानित किया गया है, तथा बीएचईएल की एचपीईपी, हैदराबाद इकाई को ‘ग क्षेत्र में स्थित सार्वजनिक उपक्रमों' की श्रेणी में 'श्रेष्ठ गृह पत्रिका' के लिए 'प्रथम पुरस्कार' से सम्मानित किया गया है।
