Travelers, beware. Double-check your bookings and verify directly with the property before making any payments. Don’t let a scam like this ruin your trip.
Despite raising a complaint with Booking(dot)com and sharing all evidence (screenshots, emails, receipts), they were unable to contact the hotel. Weeks later, no resolution, no refund, no accountability.
I’m attaching screenshots for proof and urging @bookingcom to take swift action—not just to resolve my issue but to ensure this doesn’t happen to anyone else.
On the day of my arrival, I reached the location and discovered: NO SUCH HOTEL EXISTS. Repeatedly tried calling them(30-40 times), but no response. Hours later, I got a WhatsApp message saying,“Kindly send an email to starhotel074@gmail(dot)com for a refund,” and was then blocked
The night before my trip, I reconfirmed my early arrival at 4:30 AM (expected -5°C), and they assured me that the room or a waiting area would be ready. Everything seemed fine—until it wasn’t.
I transferred ₹8,064/- as a partial payment to the account they provided and received confirmation from the hotel about my booking, early check-in options, and other details.
A few hours later, I received a message via Booking dot com stating, “Online booking not acceptable.” Contacting the number in the confirmation email, I was informed they needed a pre-payment due to “peak hours.” Seemed unusual, but I proceeded.
I booked a hotel in Manali for 5 members (27-31 Dec 2024) through Booking dot com, trusting it as a reliable platform. The hotel, “The Star Hotel,” offered 2 rooms for 4 nights at ₹16,128/-. Details seemed legit, including location:
Gurudwara School Road, Siyal, Manali.
Everyone online is trying to sell you something—a course, a platform, or the next “life-changing” product. Wake up! Don’t just throw your money at it because some influencer told you to. The internet is massive, full of information. You have all the tools to do your own research, but instead, you’d rather be spoon-fed by someone pushing their agenda? Seriously, stop being a fanboy. You’ve got a brain, use it. Quit blindly following trends and start thinking for yourself. You don't need someone to sell you common sense.
