This is very cool!

Someone rewrote Kafka in Rust and embedded it in Postgres using pgrx 🤯

Kafgres is a Rust-based Kafka broker that runs within Postgres. Kafka clients connect to Postgres on port 9092 and literally can't tell the difference. 🧵

Most days, I feel every bit in my 30s. But once in a while, I go dancing or clubbing, and it's like my 20s from Delhi come bursting back out of my body.

Completed a month of physiotherapy today. Turns out “I workout daily” doesn’t make you invincible in your 30s. Health humbles you fast.

[Divya @DivyaPaliwal17]

At this point, I am not looking for wfh or menstrual leave. All I want is
- my hair wash day to align with my gym day,
- my gym days to align with my period cycle,
- my periods to align with my oncall
I feel like everything for me is always running in different time zones?”

Bollywood painting violent men as "ideal lovers" seems to be the new trend… and honestly, it’s worrying.

The main components of Kubernetes explained.

At its core, Kubernetes is built on a handful of key components, each with a distinct role.

By understanding them, you'll have a strong foundational understanding.

𝗡𝗼𝗱𝗲:
↳ Machines (physical or virtual) that run containerized applications. Nodes host the workload, which is composed of Pods.

𝗣𝗼𝗱:
↳ The smallest deployable unit in K8s, containing one or more containers that share storage, networking, and resources.

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲:
↳ The "brain" of the cluster that manages system state and oversees Nodes and Pods.

It consists of:

• API server: handles cluster management requests
• Scheduler: assigns Pods to Nodes
• Controller manager: maintains the desired state
• etcd: stores cluster configuration and state as a distributed key-value store

𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲:
↳ Provides stable endpoints (IP/DNS) to enable communication between Pods or expose applications to external users.

𝗜𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀:
↳ Manages external HTTP/HTTPS traffic, routing it to the appropriate services within the cluster.

𝗡𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲:
↳ A virtual cluster within a Kubernetes cluster, allowing for resource isolation and multi-tenancy.

𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗲:
↳ Decouples storage from Pods, enabling data persistence across container restarts or deletions.

The components above work together to form a powerful system for automating application orchestration. Kubernetes has become the go-to platform for ensuring reliability and scalability in modern software systems. That said it's not the answer for every application. There's a steep learning curve and complexity involved. Sometimes simpler/lightweight options like Docker Swarm or PaaS solutions are a better fit.

I can't stop smiling just thinking about this... but if I ever get a cat as a pet, I’d name it Kubernetes. 😄🐱
Those who get it, get it....

Funny how people in India are cheering for Momdani’s election win in New York, while completely ignoring Bihar elections where Prashant Kishor is literally trying to fix the system we all complain about.

I crack up every time, when i see a good-looking, gorgeous actor in a hospital drama says big science words mid-scene…
Aww baby, look at you pretending to be a neurologist 💖

I love it when people introduce me to artists like Coldplay, Charli XCX, linkin park… cuz deep down I’m still that 90s kid vibing to “Pyaar tera dilli ki sardi” on loop.

One of my most favourite movies is Lagaan, which I often love to watch on a lazy weekend. And every time, I wonder… ah, what happened to Gracy Singh?

In my family, I’m the one who instantly calls out snide remarks and backhanded compliments from relatives or just cut people off so hard I look past them at family functions. In my defense, I’m the youngest child.

Gen Z is weird: one minute they’re bragging about imaginary hookups, and the next they’re pleading “please papa ka phone mat uthana, parents call kar rahe hain updates ke liye.” Kisi ko in pe do-kodi ka bharosa nahi hai.😄

had a very serious debate with my girls—who did 90s women have the hots for: Arjun Rampal or Jimmy Shergill?
me: always Mr. Shergill.
Rampal was for posters buts Shergill was for the hearts❤️

I don’t get why women are looking for a man in finance… Just look for a guy working at Invdia. Think outside the stocks, ladies and get with the program!
