Three days until Katsucon and one costume.... mostly finished? This group consists of three original designs, inspired by cosplay and needlework!

@OutlanderCostum Yes that's what I had to do as well. But rather than using silver chains I had to use a stainless steel (for budget), and then I painted the steel with stained glass/metal paint to make it look tarnished and more matte.
@peggieschommer @Outlander_STARZ Thank you! It's actually black silk but I lined it with medium weight cotton muslin so it makes it look smoother and more like leather.
@ElizabethHeffe6@OutlanderCostum No it's actually black satin! It looks like leather because it is lined with a medium weight cotton muslin. Gives it a lot of structure!
@beyondalltowers@OutlanderCostum If you check out my instagram I will be doing a tutorial in my "highlights" section in the next two weeks. It's not really a historically accurate method but it gets the job done!
@BrendaBomgarden@OutlanderCostum I technically draped it myself but I referred heavily to Janet Arnolds "Patterns of Fashion" for the 18th century. Thank you :)
@KyraWinroth@OutlanderCostum@SassenaChile I used silk satin and a silk habotai (sp?), I'm not really sure what the real thing is made of but I really liked what I used!
@auntieda276@OutlanderCostum I draped the pattern myself and used a kind of generic black silk satin that I had in my stash. I referred very heavily to the Janet Arnold "Patterns of Fashion" book that covers the 18th century.
