Penix took over the starting job for the Falcons in week 16 last season, throwing for 202, 223 & 312 passing yards. It’s a small sample size, but he had a 84 PFF passing grade, which ranked 8th best from week 16-18.

If he plays 16 games, he’d need to average the following passing YPG to surpass his lines:

3,351+ ➡️ 210 Pass YPG
3,500+ ➡️ 219 Pass YPG
4,000+ ➡️ 250 Pass YPG

Obviously major injuries are always a risk, but these are what he would need to average if he misses 1 regular season game.

He has now had a full off season to work on his game and gain chemistry with his team & all but 1 starter is back for the Falcons this season. They replaced their Center Drew Dalman with Ryan Neuzil. FantasyPoints ranks this O-line at number 12 coming into the season, whereas PFF ranks them as number 8.

Penix had a nice connection with Drake London in his limited action last season & all indications point to the fact they have looked even better in the off season & early training camp. He also has Darnell Mooney, who’s a solid WR2 and arguably a top 3 RB in Bijan Robinson to take the pressure off him.

I expect this offense to trend up this season & Penix’s lines feel low!
